The 46th International Symposium on Excavations, Surveys and Archaeometry Concludes
The 46th International Symposium on Excavations, Surveys and Archaeometry (UKAAS), organized by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in cooperation with Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, was held in Erzincan between 8–12 June and concluded following the closing ceremony.
At the closing ceremony, held at the Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Büyükkasap Congress and Culture Center, speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Gülsün Omurtak, Head of the Department of Protohistory and Near Eastern Archaeology at the Department of Archaeology, Istanbul University, on behalf of the Scientific Committee, and Bülent Gönültaş, Acting Deputy Director General of Cultural Heritage and Museums.
As part of the Symposium, which is organized annually and provides a platform for the dissemination of scholarly research in archaeology, the results of archaeological excavations, field surveys, and archaeometric studies conducted in 2025 by Turkish and international researchers under permits granted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism were presented to the academic community for evaluation and discussion. Throughout the Symposium, poster presentations were also displayed and made available to participants.
